Gang team finds drugs, weapons, cash in West Richland

Two men were arrested after officers found drugs, cash and a rifle in West Richland homes Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

The Benton County Gang Team found 7.5 grams of black tar heroin, a half pound of methamphetamine and a pound-and-a-half of marijuana after a search of two West Richland homes, according to a Benton County Sheriff's Office news release.

Scott E. Derrick, 49, of Kennewick, was arrested on delivery of methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of heroin, felon in possession of a firearm and felony possession of marijuana charges, the sheriff's office said. Randal W. Jones, 47, of West Richland was also arrested on meth possession charge, as well as for several warrants, the sheriff's office said.

Officers from the Benton/Franklin Metro Drug Task Force and the Kennewick and Richland police departments assisted in conducting the search warrant, the sheriff’s office said.
