A high-risk sex offender will be living on the 700 block of S. Garfield Street in Kennewick, according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Shane Thomas Stephens, 36, was convicted of two counts of second-degree child rape in Benton County in 1998, the sheriff's office said. Stephens also was convicted of third-degree child rape that same year.

Stephens is a Level 3 offender, which means he is the most likely to reoffend.

A special meeting is held at the Kennewick police station on the second Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. to give citizens more information about sex offenders in Kennewick. The police station is at 211 W. Sixth Avenue.
