Boy accused of sending nude photos of girl

A 17-year-old Kennewick boy is suspected of sending nude photographs of a teen girl to multiple people because she stopped talking to him.

Robert Laing was arrested last Thursday by Kennewick police, and appeared the following day in Benton County Juvenile Court on suspicion of extortion.

Court Commissioner Joseph Schneider set Laing's bail at $5,000.

Laing had threatened the girl with distributing the sexually explicit pictures unless she continued to communicate with him, according to court documents.

The girl reportedly took the pictures of herself and previously sent them to Laing.

Laing allegedly sent the photos to people they know.

The girl contacted Laing and told him to stop, and he "responded by repeatedly threatening to continue sharing the pictures with everyone he knew," documents said.

The prosecutor's office will consider additional charges involving child pornography and cyberstalking, police said.

Prosecutors have until Tuesday to file charges.
