Achieve success in life with 'no quit' attitude

Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." This scripture is very clear that it is God's will for our lives to turn out well.

However, it is important for us to understand that success doesn't happen by accident or by chance; it happens by choice. Even though it is God's will for us to experience success in life, many do not because of negative decisions.

The outcome of a person's life is determined by their choices. If someone doesn't like the outcome of their life, rather than complaining about it, they should be willing to change their decisions so that their life will turn out well.

Moreover, it is important for us to understand what success is and what success is not. Often, people's idea of success is not God's idea of success.

Success, from God's perspective, is accomplishing what you were created to do; not by how many houses you have, the type of car you drive or your social or economic status. Success also is measured by your willingness to obey God with the tasks that he has given you.

There is nothing wrong with having nice things and succeeding financially. The Bible says in 3 John 2, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." Biblical success and prosperity touches every area of our lives. That means spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, financially, relationally; in your family, career and ministry.

Here are two key ways in which a person can experience success in life:

One of the first things that we can do to experience success in life is to have a healthy self-image. The way that people see themselves is the way they will live their life.

Success and failure always can be traced back to the self-image people have of themselves. If a person believes they can succeed, then they will; if they believe they can't then they won't. Many people do not believe in themselves because of what others have said about them.

In order to succeed in life, a person must be willing to ignore the opinion of their critics and enemies. Successful people do not spend time worrying about their critics because they are too busy focusing on fulfilling their purpose in life.

The second thing we can do to experience success is to be persistent. Booker T. Washington said, "Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life but by the obstacles that one has overcome while trying to succeed."

Successful living demands a "no quit" attitude. Quitting never is an option for those who desire to fulfill their dreams.

Persistence is a characteristic that all successful people have in common. Many successful people, regardless of how bad things may get in their personal life, their marriage, or their business, never give up.

You will succeed in life if you don't quit.
