Heninger withdraws from Benton City race

By the Herald staffOctober 17, 2013

Desiree Heninger has withdrawn from the race for Benton City Council Position 3.

Family reasons caused her to resign after the ballot was printed with her name on it, but she hopes to run for the council in the future, she said. She does not expect to be elected in the current race, but if she is she would resign, she said.

Linda Lehman is the other candidate on the ballot for the position.

She has served for five years on the Benton City Planning Commission and the Economic Development Council. She has worked as a business owner and a scientist on nuclear-related projects.

She is running for the unexpired Position 3 council term. The seat has been held by Francisca Proctor.
