Quincy man run over by farm tractor, dies at scene

— A Quincy man was killed Tuesday night when he was run over by a large farm tractor.

Steve Weil, 34, was helping prepare soil at Friehe Farms near Moses Lake when he tried to climb onto the Case Model 500 tractor and slipped off, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. Weil was run over by the left rear tire and died at the scene.

Weil was an employee of Simplot.

The Grant County Coroner is scheduled to perform an autopsy on Wednesday. The Washington Department of Labor and Industries is investigating the incident.
