New Kennewick officer to be sworn in Thursday

Brooke Zimmerman will be sworn in at 8:30 a.m. Thursday as the Kennewick Police Department's newest officer.

Police Chief Ken Hohenberg will conduct the swearing in ceremony at the police station.

Zimmerman is a native of Orlando, Fla., and graduated from Seminole State College and the University of Central Florida. She has done several police-related internships with the Orlando police, the Seminole County Sheriff's office and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

The addition of Zimmerman brings the Kennewick police up to full strength with 93 commissioned officers.
