Soccer: CBC men draw, women top Wenatchee Valley

CBC Men 0, Wenatchee Valley 0: Antonio Gonzalez made four saves in goal for the Hawks helping the visitors draw with the Warriors in Wenatchee in a NWAACC East game Saturday.

CBC Women 2, WVCC 1: A Kennewick connection sparked the game-winning goal for Columbia Basin College, which topped Wenatchee Valley on the road.

Stephanie Wilson and Kennedy Woodrich — both Kennewick High School graduates — combined to break a 1-1 tie, with Wilson feeding Woodrich in the 75th minute.

The Hawks (6-4-2 overall, 4-4-2 NWAACC East) fell behind early on a goal in the 15th minute, but Mykenzie Lilly tied things up for CBC in the 66th minute with an unassisted goal.

“Our fitness was huge in the second half. (WVCC) started getting tired and we got on top of them,” Hawks coach Matt Mills said.
