— A 32-year-old Kennewick man was arrested Friday on suspicion of third-degree theft. Dwayne Bateman was booked into the Benton County jail.

A citizen called police at 4:25 p.m. Friday to report a suspicious man looking in a shed at the caller's business on West Falls Avenue. Officers responded and reportedly found Bateman about a block away.

Bateman said he had been dumpster diving but was found with property belonging to the caller, whose vehicle also had been broken into, police said.
