Kamiakin's Fishburn, Hanford's Tixier nab honors

CROSS COUNTRY | Philip Fishburn, fr., Kamiakin: Won his flight at the Sunfair Invite in Yakima in 15 minutes, 59.0 seconds, becoming the first No. 6 runner in the history of the meet to crack the 16-minute mark.

SWIMMING | Lisa Tixier, sr., Hanford: Qualified for state in two events at the Mukilteo Invitational. Finished fourth in in the 200-yard Intermediate Medley in 2:13.15, and swam the 100 freestyle in 56 seconds.

BIG SCHOOL FOOTBALL | Clifton Lozano, sr., Chiawana: Ran for 298 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries in the Riverhawks’ 48-7 win at Wenatchee. Note: Fellow RB Austin Urlacher added 191 yards and three more TDs on 16 carries

SMALL SCHOOL FOOTBALL | Justin McBride, sr., Columbia-Burbank: Coyotes’ quarterback ran for 68 yards and three touchdowns and passed for 234 yards and two more scores in CB’s 40-13 home win over Goldendale.

GIRLS SOCCER | Cydni Cottrell, soph., Chiawana: Riverhawks goalkeeper made eight saves in historic 2-1 win over Kamiakin, the program’s first-ever against the Braves. Also earned shutout in 1-0 win over Pasco, making two saves in shootout.

VOLLEYBALL | Peyton Wahl, sr., Richland: Chalked up 33 digs and two aces in a three-game sweep of Pasco and then tallied 20 more digs in a 3-1 home win over Walla Walla.
