A member of the Columbia River Young Marines is taking part in the national group's annual symposium in Arlington, Va. The event started Thursday and continues through Monday.
Brandon Gregg of Kennewick is one of 18 members of the 10,000-member group taking part in the event, according to a news release. The 18 students will work on ways to make the national program better, including dealing with issues like education, marketing, fundraising, training and mentoring junior members.
The event's format includes two days of brainstorming, and the participants present their ideas to staff members at the end.
