Benton County voter's pamphlet mistake to be amended

Tri-City HeraldOctober 11, 2013

A mistake in the voter's pamphlet sent to Benton County voters means elections officials will send letters with correct information to voters in the Kennewick Public Hospital District.

The pamphlet has information about Thomas Moak, a Port of Kennewick candidate, in the space set aside for Wanda Briggs, who is seeking re-election to the hospital district's board.

Benton County Election Supervisor Stuart Holmes said officials learned of the mistake Friday when the pamphlets arrived at homes and people began calling.

He said Briggs submitted information to be published in the pamphlet but Moak's information somehow replaced it when the booklet was designed.

On Tuesday, the Benton County Auditor's Office plans to send out letters with Briggs' information to all residents in the hospital district. They should arrive in mailboxes Wednesday, just a day or two ahead of ballots for the November election.
