BENTON CITY -- Branches & Vines has moved into the Port of Benton's development building in Benton City and will have a grand opening ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at 713-A Ninth St.

Branches & Vines is a country market that offers a blend of seasonal fruits and vegetables, plants, antiques, gifts, artwork, furniture and home & garden decor.

The owner is Mary Baldoz Smith.

Specialty food products offered at the store include honey, jams, sauces, pickled garlic, smoked almonds and wheat berries. Local artisans' artwork and crafts are on display.

Several vendors will be on hand to exhibit and serve their specialty foods.

The 3,200-square-foot building Baldoz Smith leases from the port has been home to several businesses over the years, including a fitness center, the Benton City Fire Station and the Kennedy Brothers Auto Shop.

The port has updated the building to current code, including a new parking lot.
