Election letter: West Richland -- Johnson

Actions speak louder than words. West Richland mayoral candidate Merle Johnson's actions as a citizen show why he would be a mayor for the people.

You probably didn't see him as he was serving burgers at the Harvest Festival for the West Richland Red Lions Club or when he was hanging Christmas lights in Flat Top Park for Carols & Cocoa, but Merle is usually there getting his hands dirty alongside his neighbors.

His longtime support of local chamber events along with Habitat For Humanity and acting as a mentor for Ignite Youth shows Merle Johnson is someone who truly believes in community. If you honestly believe in a community where the people should come first, then vote Merle Johnson for mayor of West Richland.

JON SWANSON, West Richland
