BENTON CITY -- A Benton City man was injured Monday night after his motorcycle crashed into the back of a pickup three miles east of Benton City.

Garrett M. Parsons, 23, was driving west on Interstate 82 about 9 p.m. Monday when he rear-ended a Dodge Ram, the Washington State Patrol said. Parsons' motorcycle left the road and hit a median.

He was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with unknown injuries and the driver of the truck, John J. James, 54, of Grandview, was not injured, the state patrol said.

The state patrol said Parsons will be cited for speeding. His 2009 Suzuki GSXR 600 was totaled.
