HERMISTON -- A Hermiston man accused of killing his wife three years ago reportedly has agreed to plead guilty later this month.
The East Oregonian newspaper reported the attorney for Maurilio Lamas Sanchez told Judge Christopher Brauer this week that his client was ready to accept a plea offer on Oct. 28.
The details of the plea deal were not disclosed.
Sanchez was charged with murder after his wife, Hilaria Sanchez, was found dead in their mobile home in October 2010.
Police said Sanchez smashed a wine bottle over her head, stabbed her in the chest and used a bandanna to choke her.
The couple were married for about 20 years and had seven children.
