Richland announces Green Living Awards

The city of Richland has announced the winners of its 2013 Green Living Awards.

They are: Shari's Restaurant, Richland, Green Business of the Year; Marjorie Sutch Greenway Cleanup Project completed by volunteers from G4S Secure Systems and Kadlec Regional Medical Center, Green Project of the Year; and CH2MHill's Zero Waste Picnic, Event of the Year.

Others groups and projects honored included AREVA, Local Boys Metal Recycling, Christ the King's Sausage Fest, Washington State University's anti-litter mapping project and the Hanford Green Remediation Project, a city news release said.

The awards recognize Richland businesses, schools, groups and individuals for their environmental efforts.
