Police investigate Pasco girl's report of suspicious man

October 7, 2013

Pasco police recently investigated an incident when an 11-year-old girl reported to school officials that a man grabbed her while she was on her way to school.

The girl was heading to Maya Angelou Elementary School with an 8-year-old cousin last week when she claims the man grabbed the older girl’s arm, police said.

Police searched the area for a man, who was reported to be wearing black clothes, Capt. Jim Raymond said.

Police do not believe the incident was an attempted abduction, Raymond said. No similar incidents have been reported.

"No conversation (with the girls) took place," Raymond said. "It appears they were passing each other on the sidewalk."
