Patsy and Ray Merriman

Patsy and Ray Merriman of Kennewick celebrated their 50th anniversary Sept. 14 with an open house and will travel to Hawaii in October.

They were married Sept. 14, 1963, at the Presbyterian Church in Sunnyside. They moved from Goldendale to the Tri-Cities in 1987.

Patsy worked as a secretary to the superintendent of schools in Goldendale and then as a secretary at Hanford, retiring in 1995. She works part time at Naturally Gloria.

Ray worked as a electrical engineer for Pacific Gas and Electric in California and for Martin Marietta Aluminum in Goldendale before moving to Tri-Cities. He worked for Westinghouse and Fluor Daniel at Hanford from 1987 until 2005, when he retired. He stays active helping to maintain the Badger Mountain trail.

They enjoy camping, boating and travel.

They have two children, Dacia (Tom) Harrison of Richland and Shari Ivey of Kennewick. They have three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
