Hwy. 395 driver may have died from medical issue

October 5, 2013

— A Umatilla man was found dead in his car Saturday morning after the car left Highway 395 near Hermiston and drove into the sagebrush about 60 feet.

The Oregon State Police are continuing to investigate, but say Rodney Marks, 59, may have had a medical emergency while driving. The car did not appear to have crashed.

It was spotted in the sagebrush on a hillside about 3 a.m. by a passing motorist, according to police reports.
