There will be an informational meeting at 4 p.m. Oct. 13 about the annual Operation Christmas Child Shoebox project.

The meeting will be at the ShareHouse Coffee House, 2150 Keene Road in Richland, near South Queensgate Drive and is sponsored by Bethel Church of Richland.

Shoeboxes can be packed with school supplies, personal hygiene products, small toys and hard candies and will be shipped to children in about 100 nations.

Shoebox-packing parties will be at ShareHouse from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30. Items to be packed will be collected all month at the coffee house. The packed shoe boxes will be collected Nov. 18-25.

Donors are asked to include $7 per shoebox to help pay for shipping costs.

Operation Christmas Child is sponsored by Samaritan's Purse, a worldwide nonprofit Christian relief agency.
