Othello pedestrian hit by car

— A 63-year-old Othello man was hit by a car Thursday night while crossing the street outside a crosswalk, the Othello Police Department said.

Apolinar Garza was crossing Main Street mid-block near North Sixth Avenue, about 6:10 p.m., police said.

Edwardo Valencia, 26, of Othello, was driving west in the farthest north lane and did not see Garza and hit him, police said.

Garza sustained several serious injuries and was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, police said.
