Hanford board begins canceling events

Tri-City HeraldOctober 3, 2013

The Hanford Advisory Board has begun canceling events because of a lack of money after the federal government shutdown.

It started a new fiscal year Tuesday and the first events it had scheduled were a series of board committee meetings and conference calls scheduled for next week. Those have been canceled.

Board leadership is evaluating whether it can conduct conference calls, which typically involve paid staff, the week of Oct. 14.
