Palouse Falls ranked among world's top 10 waterfalls

By The Tri-City HeraldOctober 3, 2013

An online travel and lifestyle newsletter has ranked Palouse Falls among the top 10 waterfalls in the world.

Thrillist listed the falls, located on the Franklin-Whitman county line, as No. 10 on its list of 15 waterfalls.

It was the lowest-ranked falls in the United States, with Yosemite Falls in California taking the top spot in the list. However, Thrillist noted Palouse Falls has a higher vertical drop than Niagara Falls and it even beat out the largest waterfall in the world, Victoria Falls on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Another good thing: The falls, located in a state park to the northeast of the Tri-Cities, are unaffected by the ongoing federal government shutdown.
