Tri-Cities, Walla Walla home builders honored

Tri-City HeraldOctober 2, 2013

The Home Builders Association of Tri-Cities and the Walla Walla area is at the top of state and national membership trends for the building industry once again this year.

The Building Industry Association of Washington reported this week that the home builders group became the second largest builders' association in the state with 636 builder and associate members, surpassing both Spokane and Pierce County.

The local nonprofit also has a membership retention rate of 86 percent -- the third highest in the state.

The HBA also placed 33rd on the list of the National Association of Home Builders Top 100 based on membership statistics.

Last year, the local association was the fifth largest in Washington and 35th in the nation.

"Increasing those standings in just eight months is a testament to the strength of the housing industry and the overall economy in our region," HBA Executive Director Jeff Losey said in a news release.
