Othello woman hit by car dies at scene

— A 49-year-old Othello woman was killed Tuesday night when she was hit by a car on Highway 17, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Maria E. Farias’ Honda Accord rear ended another car 10 miles north of Othello around 10 p.m., state patrol said. Farias reportedly got out of her car and was hit by another car.

Farias was pronounced dead at the scene, state patrol said.

Maria D. Perez, a passenger in the car that hit Farias, was taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, state patrol said. The 24-year-old’s condition was not immediately available.

No one else was injured in the collisions, state patrol said.
