Highway 12 closed at White Pass

Tri-City HeraldOctober 1, 2013

Highway 12 has been closed at White Pass due to a washout in the road, according to a Washington State Department of Transportation news release.

The road is closed in both directions for 16 miles between the Oak Creek feeding station and the intersection with Highway 123.

“It could be a substantial closure,” WSDOT spokeswoman Summer Derrey said.

An alternate route is available using Highway 410 to cross Chinook Pass to Highway 123. Commercial traffic is not allowed on that route.
