A traffic stop in Richland over the weekend led to the arrest of a woman with four felony warrants, police said.
Police stopped a car on Sunday around 5:10 p.m. near Putnam Street and Wright Avenue.
The passenger in the car, Casey Michelle Ayers, 30, told police about the warrants, and she was arrested, Capt. Mike Cobb said. Ayers had two warrants for possession of a controlled substance, one for identity theft and another for theft of a vehicle.
As Ayers got out of the car, an officer noticed a syringe with a clear liquid sitting at the feet of another passenger, Cobb said. The passenger, Brandon Lloyd Coffey, 23, also was arrested.
Ayers was booked into the Benton County jail, and Coffey was later released. Charges against Coffey were forwarded to the prosecutor's office for review.
