Election letter: Barnes for Port of Kennewick

September 29, 2013

I strongly support retaining Don Barnes at the Port of Kennewick. Don's appointment last year, from a wide pool of qualified candidates, was a wise choice. The commission seat is Don's first venture into politics and he has quickly risen to the job. He has the analytical skills and calm demeanor needed to thoughtfully decide difficult issues and to lead the port in a positive direction.

In addition, Don has a natural affinity for people. He works well with others to build partnerships and invite participation. These attributes will benefit the citizens of the district and help the port invigorate our local economy. Don has shown that he has the intelligence and values needed to be a strong commissioner and a trusted public servant. He deserves your vote.
