Do you have a great name for one of Pasco's three new Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) elementary schools opening in 2014 and 2015? Sept. 30 is the deadline for submitting your choice.
Names most likely to be forwarded to the Board of Directors for consideration will honor the contributions of scientists, recognize significant innovations in STEM, or reflect universal scientific/mathematical concepts. Nominations can be emailed to STEMnames@psd1.org
The district is also seeking community members to serve on the STEM Naming Committee that will recommend a list of names to the board of directors from those that have been submitted.
Pasco's three new elementary schools will be named through this process.
The naming committee will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 9 and from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 23.
Applications for the STEM Naming Committee are available on the district website at www.psd1.org. Those interested can also contact Planning Principal Deidre Holmberg at 543-2159 or firstname.lastname@example.org for an application or additional information.
