West Richland boy, woman injured in I-82 crash

September 26, 2013

A 6-year-old boy and a 28-year-old woman from West Richland were injured after their van crashed into a truck on Interstate 82 on Wednesday night.

Chrissy S. Reed was driving a 2007 Nissan Quest van about 8:46 p.m. when she drove into a slow-moving 1995 International tractor semi, the Washington State Patrol said. Both vehicles shared the same westbound lane.

The state patrol said Reed would be cited for negligent driving and that inattention caused the crash.

Reed and her passenger Timothy Reed were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with unknown injuries.

The driver of the semi, Victor Flores, 54, of Grandview, wasn't injured.
