Letter: Inconsiderate parking makes it tough to navigate sidewalks

September 25, 2013

I recently have noticed an increase in vehicles being parked on sidewalks. This not only includes private vehicles but also Benton PUD, KID and Charter, as well as other businesses. For example, Senske Landscape Co.

And while most of the time, these vehicles are parked on the sidewalk along streets that do not allow parking on the street, they have a huge impact on people with disabilities. For example, those in wheelchairs and those visually impaired and using guide dogs to assist them. We all need to be better aware of our neighbors' needs and be more considerate in where we park.
