WALLA WALLA -- The American Association of University Women of Walla Walla will hold their 11th annual kitchen tour from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 6.

Tickets are $20 and are available at four Walla Walla businesses: Earthlight Books, Bright's Candies & Gifts, Sweetwater Paper & Home, or at Jacobi's Cafe on the day of the tour. Tickets also may be bought at brownpapertickets.com.

There are eight remodeled or new kitchens on the tour, all in homes dating from the late 1900s through 2013. Many of the older homes have been remodeled to reflect the historic character of the house while creating efficient kitchens.

The kickoff location is Jacobi's Cafe, 416 N. Second Ave., between noon and 2 p.m. Present your ticket to receive a tour map for the self-guided tour.

There also will be a digital art show featuring works by Walla Walla photographer, Donna Lasater at the kickoff site, Jacob's Cafe, from noon to 2 p.m. the day of the tour. She uses many special effects and different media to create her one-of-a-kind pieces, many featuring local scenes.

Proceeds benefit AAUW scholarships and educational projects.
