Has anyone noticed the irony of the same people who less than a decade ago, decried: "Bush lied and people died," are now beating the drums of war? And with far more at stake?
Apparently their notion of humanity is reserved for who is in office.
I was against our invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. In my opinion, nothing that has been accomplished in those incursions has been worth the lives and treasure it has cost this nation. Sadly, most of the veterans I have known and spoken to about these engagements share my view.
And here we go again.
I know, I know, no boots on the ground, and only air strikes for a set amount of time that already has a 30-day extension. But let's look at the differences.
The Iraq invasion had U.N. sanction. Not so in this case.
The invasion had the full support of Congress. Not so in this case.
When we invaded, there were no other major world players willing to oppose us. Not so in this case.
In both cases oil is a factor. Time to follow the money. Wake up people! We are staring right at World War III. Choose wisely.
