Letter: Thanks, arts

September 19, 2013

This past Saturday night, I enjoyed an outstanding performance of The 39 Steps at the Richland Players Theatre. The fast-paced and technically difficult script was performed to the very high standards I have seen at professional venues such as the Alley, the Mark Taper Forum and the Ashland theaters.

As a community, we are so lucky to have such cultural activities as professional chamber music at Camerata Musica, inspired choral music at Mid-Columbia Mastersingers, Mid-Columbia Symphony, Mid-Columbia Musical Theatre's light opera and Broadway offerings and the eclectic Community Concerts. Where else can one experience quality performances that are typical of larger cities at reasonably low prices or in the case of Camerata, no charge at all.

Although we are a relatively small community, we are truly blessed with an abundance of cultural riches that further enhances an already beautiful place to live.
