The Prosser Balloon Rally takes off Sept. 27-29.

About 23 colorful hot air balloons will jazz up Mid-Columbia skies when the annual Prosser Balloon Rally gets under way Sept. 27-29.

The balloon launches take place each day at 6 a.m., weather permitting, at the Prosser Airport.

There will be a harvest festival and street-painting competition throughout the three-day event in downtown Prosser. Other festivities include the popular Night Glow on Sept. 28 and a Kid Zone with bounce houses, games and prizes all three days in the downtown area.

Here's the schedule:

Sept. 27

6 a.m. -- Balloons launch from airport. There also will be balloon rally memorabilia on sale at the airport.

11 a.m.-5 p.m. -- Harvest Festival

5:30-8 p.m. -- Pilots reception

7-11 p.m. -- Street dance

Sept. 28

6 a.m. -- Balloons launch from airport.

8 a.m.-noon -- Breakfast by National Honor Society at Keene-Riverview school; farmers market between the library and city park.

9 a.m.-4 p.m. -- Harvest Festival; street-painting festival in downtown Prosser

5:30 p.m. -- Night Glow festivities begin at Art Fiker Stadium at Prosser High.

6-7 p.m. -- Bram Brata and OK2Botay steeldrum bands perform at Art Fiker stadium.

Sept. 29

6 a.m. -- Balloons launch from airport.

8 a.m. -- Breakfast at the Prosser Senior Activity Center on Seventh Street.

10 a.m.-3 p.m. -- Harvest and street-painting festivals.
