Tri-Cities Cancer Center in Kennewick is taking several steps this month to promote ovarian cancer awareness. September is national ovarian cancer awareness month.
Officials have tied teal ribbon around trees on campus in support of Ovarian Cancer Together's "Teal a Tree for September" campaign, and the Kennewick center will display posters promoting early detection and treatment and have ovarian cancer awareness ribbons and information at its library, a news release said.
The cancer center also will promote awareness on its Facebook page, www.facebook.com/TCCancerCenter, including through a blog written by Kay Kerbyson, a ovarian cancer survivor and founder of Ovarian Cancer Together.
Columbia Basin Hematology & Oncology, which shares the cancer center's campus, is displaying a 7-foot-tall teal ribbon in its lobby.
