Tri-Citians can learn about Affordable Care Act at events

The Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce is offering a pair of events this month on the federal Affordable Care Act.

A seminar on understanding and preparing for implementation is planned from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Tri-Cities Business & Visitor Center in Kennewick.

The presenters are LaPrele Hernandez of Benefit Partners Unlimited and Denise Sliger of Senior Benefit Solutions. The sponsor is Bank Reale.

Cost is $25 for chamber members and $35 for nonmembers. People are asked to RSVP by Sept. 23 to 736-0510 or info@tricityregionalchamber.com.

Also, a chamber luncheon Sept. 25 will feature a panel discussion about the federal health care law. Kennewick General Hospital is sponsoring the event at the Columbia Center Red Lion Hotel.

The luncheon starts at noon, with registration and networking open at 11:30 a.m.

Cost is $20 for chamber members and $30 for nonmembers. The registration deadline is Friday. Call 736-0510 to reserve a spot.

Panel members will include Dr. Robert Stark, heath care analyst at the Washington Policy Center; Ted Schinzel, Spokane branch manager of the Small Business Administration; and Kathryn Kolan, director of legislative and regulatory affairs at the Washington State Medical Association.
