Football: Liberty Christian opens season with romp

LIBERTY CHRISTIAN 68, Almira-Coulee-Hartline 8: Sophomore John Lesser ran for 202 yards on 12 carries and scored five touchdowns to lead Liberty Christian past Almira-Coulee-Hartline in nonleague action in Richland on Friday.

The defending 8-man champion Patriots scored the first 60 points of the game, including a fumble recovery in the end zone by tight end Rob Heimann.

The Warriors scored late in the fourth to get on the board, only to see Lesser take the en suing kickoff 72 yards for his fifth TD of the day.
