Two new groups of mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus in Franklin County, according to the Franklin County Mosquito Control District.

The pools were collected a mile northwest of Basin City. They are the third and fourth mosquito pools to test positive for West Nile virus this year.

The district plans to treat the affected areas from the air and ground for the remainder of the mosquito season.

The other mosquitoes to test positive were collected on North Wahluke Road in the northwestern part of the county.
