Richland Republican appointed to higher education commission

Tri-City HeraldSeptember 13, 2013

State Rep. Larry Haler, R-Richland, has been appointed to the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education. Haler, who also heads the Washington House Higher Education Committee, is one of three Washington lawmakers on the commission, officials said in a release.

The commission works to establish sharing of resources between higher education institutions in the West.

Haler will serve on the commission's legislative advisory committee. He recently attended a two-day conference organized by that committee and Haler said he was excited about what he learned on other states are doing in higher education.
