Letter: Hunger in GOP-controlled states raises question

September 11, 2013

Question: What do these nine states have in common? Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Nevada, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

Answer: More than 16 percent of the people in each of these states live in "low food security" homes, where there is not enough to eat, and all of these states have Republican legislatures. All except Missouri and Arkansas have Republican governors as well.

Coincidence?
