Speed cause of blue bridge wreck, police say

September 10, 2013

— A semi-truck driving too fast as it approached the blue bridge between Pasco and Kennewick on Tuesday morning caused a crash that injured a Pasco man and slowed southbound traffic, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Isidro Guzman, 53, of Pasco, was driving the semi south on Highway 395 about 9:30 a.m. as he approached the bridge. Pablo Rosales, 34, of Pasco, was driving his Chevrolet S-10 pickup near Guzman at the same time, the state patrol said.

Rosales changed lanes because of lane restrictions up ahead. Guzman was unable to slow down in time and struck Rosales’ truck. Rosales was injured and taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland where he was treated and later released.

Guzman will be cited for driving too fast, the state patrol said.
