The Hanford High School Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Kevin Swisher and Chris Newbury, has been invited to perform at the Music for All National Festival on March 5-8, 2014 in Indianapolis, Ind.

The wind ensemble is made up of about 50 of the school's best musicians who have received numerous honors from around the state and the northwest.

The school was chosen from among 28 high school ensembles from across the country. The invited concert bands, orchestras and percussion ensembles chosen for the 2014 Festival come from Colorado, Texas, Minnesota, South Carolina, Virginia, Louisiana, California, Illinois, Ohio, Georgia, and Washington.

More festival and ticket information to the event is available at www.musicforall.org.

"This is the most prestigious performance opportunity a high school level ensemble can earn," Swisher said. "The experience is not duplicated anywhere in the world. Additionally, the educational experience for the students is unmatched."

Anyone interested in donating to the ensemble's traveling fund can contact Swisher via email kevin.swisher@rsd.edu.
