Department of Ecology fines Wallula firm $1,000

TRI-CITY HERALD STAFFSeptember 9, 2013

TransCanada in Wallula has been fined $1,000 by the Washington State Department of Ecology.

It exceeded allowable carbon oxide emission limits from a compressor station for a natural gas pipeline, according to the state.

The fine was the only penalty of $1,000 or more issued in the Mid-Columbia by the Department of Ecology for the second quarter of 2013. Second quarter fines were recently announced.
