— Three men from Othello were hurt Sunday morning in a head-on collision on Highway 24 about four miles west of the city.

One of the vehicles caught fire, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Andres Alvarado Alamilla, 23, of Othello, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Astro van east on the highway about 5:23 a.m. when he drifted over the center line and struck a 2003 Cadillac CTS driven by Hector A. Corona, 43, of Othello, the patrol said.

Alamilla’s Chevrolet van became fully engulfed in flames, the patrol reported.

Alamilla was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Corona was taken to Confluence Health in Wenatchee and his 18-year-old passenger, Jose Z. Corona of Othello, was taken to Othello Community Hospital, the patrol said.

Alcohol and drugs weren’t involved and all three men were buckled up, the patrol reported.
