— A four-car crash in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the blue bridge in Kennewick on Friday afternoon sent three people to area hospitals, the Washington State Patrol reported.

It was shortly after 4 p.m. when Julie A Breaker, 40, of Vancouver, Wash., who was driving a Suburban, rear-ended a Ram pickup driven by Russel F. Petty, 36, of Pasco.

The collision slammed Petty’s pickup into a Lexus driven by Sang T. Phan, 55, of Kennewick, which pushed the Lexus into a Cadillac driven by Jeane M. Owens, 49, of Kennewick.

Two passengers in Phan’s vehicle, Connie T. Chung, 49, and an 11-year-old unidentified girl, were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with unknown injuries.

Petty was taken to Kennewick General Hospital with unknown injuries. Phan, Owens and Breaker were not injured.

The state patrol cited driver inattention to traffic as the cause of the accident and said Breaker faces negligent driving charges.
