Police: Man assaulted, robbed in Kennewick

— Police are searching for two suspects who reportedly robbed and assaulted a man early Friday morning in Kennewick.

Ryne Jones, 27, told police he was walking near Third Avenue and Date Street around 1:10 a.m., when two men confronted him and stole two backpacks he was carrying, police said. Jones claimed he didn’t know the men.

The suspects left in a white pickup truck, police said. Both are described as middle-aged males.

Jones was treated for non-life threatening injuries at Kennewick General Hospital.
