A Youth Art Exhibit about traditions of the Columbia River opens Sept. 7 at the Maryhill Museum of Art, on Highway 14 near Goldendale.

The exhibit coincides with the museum's Family Fun Day with a free drum-making demonstration and workshop starting at 1 p.m. on the museum grounds.

There also will be a performance by musician Foster Kalama, who plays a variety of flutes. Kalama is the great-great-grandson of Chief Joseph.
