— Police detained three males early Thursday morning in Kennewick after a 32-year-old man was found with a cut across his chest.

Officers were called to a parking lot on the 1300 block of W. Seventh Pl. around 3 a.m. following a disturbance, Sgt. Ken Lattin said. They found Dwayne Bateman near the parking lot with what appeared to be a knife wound.

Bateman told officers he got into a fight with three males and he was cut with a beer bottle, Lattin said. Police found broken beer bottles and a three-inch knife near the scene.

Three males were detained a short while later while driving a car that matched the description of one seen leaving the scene, Lattin said. The investigation is ongoing.
